Australia's Daniel Kickert regrets role in brawl with Gilas Pilipinas

Daniel Kickert also spoke about the riot that occurred in their Gilas Philippines game at the Philippine Arena in Bocaue.

35-year-old Kickert said, He is ready to accept  any penalty from FIBA.

After Roger Pogoy  offensive foul to Chris Goulding, Kickert entered the scene and gave Pogoy a strong elbow in the neck. Here the riot started.

“I was put in a position where I obviously made an action, which was regrettable and unfortunate,”  Kickert's interview in Brisbane airport on Wednesday morning with coach Andrej Lemanis and assistant Luc Longley.

"It ended poorly with a controversial issue. I think I've overstepped a little bit with my response to the escalation in the game, "Kickert added.

"He saw someone hit one of his teammates and he took a response, and as he admitted right there, perhaps that was over the line in terms of the impact of the response," coach said. "But in terms of looking after his teammates, it's something he was always going to do."
